The Mid-Columbia Chapter oversees evangelism & discipleship outreach to children in Klickitat, Hood River, Sherman, Skamania, Gilliam, Wheeler & Wasco counties, as well as aiding in the training of teachers & youth in eastern & central Oregon.
Their goal is to someday have a Good News Club (also called Release-Time Class) for every school in every town. To do this, they network with churches in each community by training their teachers to conduct those Clubs and establish the children in their churches.
CEF also trains up youth to do summer 5-Day Clubs, Party Clubs & Fair Ministry through a ministry called Christian Youth In Action (CYIA). CEF not only trains youth but adults through Super Seminars and courses called Teaching Children Effectively (TCE). In addition, teachers can purchase curriculum from their office, or borrow from their curriculum library.
